? क्रोध के आवेश में मनुष्य कत्ल करने तक नहीं रुकता। ऊटपटाँग बक जाता है और बाद में हाथ मल मल कर पछताता है।

? जीभ के स्वाद के लालच में भक्ष्य अभक्ष्य का विवेक नष्ट हो जाता है। अनेक व्यक्ति चटपटे मसालों, चाट पकौड़ी और मिठाइयाँ खा खाकर अपनी पाचन शक्ति सदा के लिये नष्ट कर डालते हैं।

? सबसे बड़े मूर्ख वे हैं जो अनियंत्रित वासना के शिकार हैं। विषय-वासना के वश में मनुष्य का नैतिक, धार्मिक एवं आध्यात्मिक पतन तो होता ही है, साथ ही गृहस्थ सुख, स्वास्थ्य और वीर्य नष्ट होता है। समाज ऐसे भोग विलासी पुरुष को घृणा की दृष्टि से अवलोकता है। गुरुजन उसका तिरस्कार करते हैं। ऐसे पापी मदहोश को स्वास्थ्य लक्ष्मी और आरोग्य सदा के लिये त्याग देते हैं। इन तीनों ही शत्रुओं पर पूरा पूरा नियंत्रण रखिये।

As the name suggests, to be a rajayogi means to be a practitioner of meditation, who with the practice of meditation is able become a ruler of the self. But on the other hand, rajayoga is not restricted to learning to discipline the physical sense organs only but more importantly, of redirecting the energy of my thoughts, feelings, emotions, intellect and sanskaras in a positive and constructive way. When these energies become positive, my karmas start becoming elevated. And how do I make these energies positive? By performing actions while having a mental connection with the Supreme Being or by having a meditative consciousness while walking, interacting, cooking, driving or working – in fact, while doing anything. After all, meditation is specifically related to the use of the mind and intellect and does not require the use of the physical sense organs and so can be done alongside each karma in the day – only the form of meditation changes depending on the karma being performed. Just as we can remember other things and people while being involved in various activities throughout the day, we can keep our minds on our true spiritual self, the Supreme Being, churn different aspects of spiritual knowledge, remain focused on a single aspect of spiritual knowledge, etc. while performing karmas – these are all some of the different forms of meditation – there are more that can be practiced. Thus, rajayoga can also be called karmayoga.Karmayoga meaning the one who maintains the balance of meditation and karmas while being involved or busy in karmas.

True help is to help people discover their own specialities.

Thought to ponder: When others’ negativities or weaknesses are perceived, it is essential to look at their positivity or specialities too. This will naturally bring love and positivity in the relationship and there will be an encouragement of that positivity. So even if that person has no recognition or has not been using his speciality, an encouragement of it by others will naturally enable him to begin to use it.

Point to practice: Making others aware of their specialities and subtly encouraging them to use these specialities is a great help that I can do for others. When I am able to give this unique help and cooperation, I not only find benefit for others, but I am also able to get the good wishes of others. Even others naturally become positive with my positive attitude.

The Soul Journey

A common question asked by many is – “Do we go back to the soul world, the incorporeal world (non-physical world), the home of all souls, when we die?” When we understand and experience ourselves as souls, as un-destroyable, eternal beings, we realize that death is only a physical phenomenon. At the death of the body, the soul enters another physical costume and a new chapter in its journey of life begins. Depending on the soul’s karma performed through the body, its new birth is likely to be somewhere in the company of those souls with whom it has been close in previous births. It is quite a paradox that when a soul leaves a body, the relations which it has left, mourn over the loss of their loved one, and the new relations which it gets attached to celebrate with happiness, over an addition of a new-born entrant in their family.

The soul only leaves the home (the soul world) once in a unique, personal journey. This journey of the soul is not linear i.e. a straight line, with a beginning and an end. But, on the other hand, it is cyclic i.e. a circle, with neither a beginning, nor an end – although both leaving the soul world and going back to the soul world happen once each in every cycle. This soul journey can be compared to actors who leave home to go to the theatre to play their parts. They change costumes between scenes – they don’t return home at the end of each scene, they return home when the play is finished, only to return the next day to repeat their part in the play. Each birth of the soul that it takes can be compared to a new scene of the play, which consists of many different scenes.

Expression: Whenever you begin any task first check whether or not you still remember any past situations that have taken place with others. You cannot achieve total success if you continue to regard or speak to anyone with the vision and attitude of the past.

These are some examples of masculine and feminine qualities:

Intuitive, Silent, Affectionate, Serene (Peaceful), Patient, Tolerant, Inspiring, Optimistic, Resistant, Mature, Sweet

Opening up to the spiritual consciousness (or the consciousness of the soul) makes the masculine and feminine qualities emerge from our inner selves. As we become more conscious and attentive, we come across a balance between masculine and feminine qualities, achieving greater harmony in our lives and in our relationships. When we are only aware of the physical form, a part of our being may remain hidden. For example, if a man only identifies with his masculine form (I am a man), his feminine qualities do not develop. In the same way, many women have not developed their masculine qualities due to the thought: “I am (only) a woman”. E.g. in a family where the father is often absent and cannot provide his support for long periods of time, the role of the mother takes on another broader dimension. She can make the masculine qualities emerge, combining authority and bravery with her more feminine aspects.

Addiction to relationships, in other words, the dependency on other people, is to a large extent due to an imbalance of masculine and feminine qualities in our inner selves. The main reason why this happens is that we do not develop the qualities that we are missing internally and we seek the company of others who have these qualities. We try to compensate for our weaknesses and fill our defects by taking what we are missing, from other people, thus becoming dependent on them.

Expression: When I am faced with a difficult situation, my mind is flooded with thoughts. I also begin to talk about it a lot, describing the problem to all I meet. Then the problem looks so big that I feel I could do nothing to change it.

Experience: I need learn the art of silence(mental and verbal). Internal silence brings the right solutions because my mind is calm. And when I don’t describe the problem too much to people I will know there is a solution and I will be able to find it too.

Radiating Positive And Powerful Energy

You will notice many people in your life who are very much in need of love but they attract the opposite energy. This is because the negative energy of lack of love for the self and low self esteem which they continuously radiate causes them to attract that same negative energy from others. In the same way, there are many people who are very much in need of success but they attract failure repeatedly. Failure is directly related to the quality of energy we radiate i.e. how positive and powerful our expectations of success are. Once we set the goals that we wish to reach, we need to be careful that we move towards our aim without creating the negative energy of fear inside our consciousness. Failure appears when we make an effort to achieve those goals and we damage the result or attract failure without us desiring so, simply because of our fears of failure.Even then, if at that step we feel that we have failed, we need to have a positive and constructive attitude.

We need to emerge the power to face and power of acceptance inside us. That way our creative energies will flow and we will carry on going forward without the failure (whether real or only perceived by us to be real but actually not real) becoming an obstacle in our path from doing so. Although at that time it may seem as though we have missed an opportunity or that some openings have closed for us, have faith and be fearless. If we are fearless and radiate positive and powerful energy, other possibilities will open up. We have this deep rooted belief that our fear will keep us safe, and we treat it like a comfort zone, a red signal that tells us that we should stop. Creating a time every day to do something that you fear, helps you to re-condition yourself internally to begin to see the fear as a green signal and to develop inner courage, so that you can move towards your goal of success. Each day, do what you fear and the fear will soon be removed.

Natural Qualities and Acquired Qualities

When we look at ourselves from outside we can only see the surface of what we have become. We can’t see or perhaps cannot even imagine the inner core (center), which, like in the example of the coconut, is the only part that really can nourish us and give us energy. The shell (in the case of the coconut) serves as a protection but we certainly can’t eat it.

In our case, the core (center) consists of natural or inner qualities such as peace, love, power, truth, happiness and so on. The shell is the ego which consists of features or personality characteristics we have acquired through the journey of our lives such as experiences, abilities, memories, learning, habits and beliefs – in short, all that we are referring to when we say: ‘I am so-and-so, from such-and-such family or organization or city’.

While we are limited to these acquired characteristics, our true qualities remain inaccessible. Through deep reflection and meditation we can break the shell and activate our inner qualities from which our values or principles are born.

Meditation For Personality Transformation

At the heart of every human being or soul there is a spiritual energy, pure, of peace, love, truth and happiness without dependence. Being aware and experiencing this energy provides you with the inner strength necessary for change. Meditation is the method of access in order to allow that energy to come to the surface of your consciousness and in your mind in order to color your thoughts and feelings. In a way very similar to that of a volcano whose melted lava, hot, flows from the centre of the Earth to the surface, we, on meditating, can create volcanoes of power (which emerge in our conscious minds) required for personality transformation.

You can do an exercise, a meditation whereby you choose a habit or sanskar that you don’t want, and you will replace it with a characteristic that you would like to incorporate, like a thread, into the cloth of your personality. For example, replace impatience with patience.

Decide on a habit that you want to change e.g. impatience. We will focus this meditation on changing impatience. You can apply it to other habits also:

I relax and prepare to look inwards…
I am aware of the unwanted habit of becoming impatient…
As I sit in meditation, I relax my body.
I become the observer of my own thoughts and feelings…
Realizing my true identity as soul – a subtle point of light situated at the center of my forehead, just above my eyebrows, I remember my real nature is one of calmness, peace and power…
I focus on the power of peace, inviting it in and welcoming it into my thoughts and feelings from deep within…. enjoying the calm contentment which it brings…
On the screen of my mind, I begin to visualize patience…
I see myself in a situation where I normally become impatient…
I now see myself as being completely full with the virtue of patience…
I shape my feelings around the idea and image of patience…. unhurried and relaxed… calm and watchful…
If necessary, I can wait… forever…. with patience
I am free of the desire for certain outcomes…
I see how I respond with patience…
I see the effect of my patience in others within the situation…
I now know how I will speak with patience, walk with patience and act patiently in the real life situations…
I maintain this peace, which generates serenity and patience in me…

Carrying Forward Of Special Talents

Everything that an individual does i.e. a soul does using the medium of the physical body is registered in the soul as a sanskara. Sanskaras, therefore, are the foundation of our present personalities and all our special talents and inclinations. There have been many famous personalities including artists, musicians, engineers, sportsmen, etc. who, before attaining phenomenal success in their respective fields, displayed amazing talents related to their respective field at a very young age. When and where could they have mastered these talents so well? It’s obvious that amazing masteries at a very young age are not inherited from our parents. These talents have been developed and brought into practice in previous births, as a result of whichsanskaras of the talents are created inside the soul. These sanskaras are then carried into the next births, and are brought into actions in the new births.

A more common day-to-day example is the following: A child is born into a family of doctors where, from the beginning, all efforts are made to mould and prepare him to become a doctor, according to family tradition. However, from an early age, the child shows strong tendencies to become an actor, starts to take part extensively in theatre activities at school and the talent starts manifesting itself. This example demonstrates that the characteristics a soul carries from previous experiences of previous births will take it in a specific direction despite attempts made by the family on the contrary. So in short, genius is experience. Some think that it’s a gift or talent, but it is the fruit of long experience of many lives. Some are older souls than others i.e. they have been present on the world stage since a longer period of time and have covered a journey of more number of births and so know more. This kind of unlimited, broad vision of life provides us answers to many questions.

True honesty brings clarity about the self.

Expression: Honesty doesn’t mean just speaking the truth. Honesty means being clear with oneself. Then it naturally brings clarity about one’s own capabilities. This clear understanding enables one to do the best according to the capacity. It gives the recognition of a higher step that can be climbed and brings the humility to learn from the different lessons of life.

Experience: When I am honest I am able to know my own limitations and accept them with love. This acceptance keeps me busy with what I can do and also silently makes me ready for the next step. When time comes, I am able to do it, because I have already prepared myself for it. I don’t stop when situations demand more from me because there is total clarity within.

साहित्य का सहज अर्थ है अपनी सभ्यता-संस्कृति,अपने परिवेश को अपने शब्दों में अपने दृष्टिकोण के साथ पाठकों, श्रोताओं के मध्य प्रस्तुत करना . पर यदि दृष्टिकोण,शब्द कृत्रिम आधुनिकता या आवेश से बाधित हो तो उसे साहित्य का दर्जा नहीं दे सकते। साहित्य, जो सोचने पर मजबूर कर दे,उत्कंठा से भर दे।

प्राचीन ह‍िन्दी साहित्य की परंपरा काफी समृद्ध और विशाल रही है और आज भी है। ह‍िन्दी साहित्य को सुशोभित-समृद्ध करने में मुंशी प्रेमचंद, सूर्यकांत त्रिपाठी ‘निराला’, महादेवी वर्मा, पांडेय बेचन शर्मा ‘उग्र’, सच्चिदानंद हीरानंद वात्स्यायन ‘अज्ञेय’, रामधारी सिंह ‘दिनकर’, रामवृक्ष बेनीपुरी, डॉ. हरिवंशराय बच्चन, कबीर, रसखान, मलिक मोहम्मद जायसी, रविदास (रैदास), रमेश दिविक, रामेश्वर शुक्ल ‘अंचल’, आचार्य हजारीप्रसाद द्विवेदी, पं. माखनलाल चतुर्वेदी, डॉ. धर्मवीर भारती, जयशंकर प्रसाद, डॉ. शिवमंगलसिंह सुमन, अज्ञेय, अमीर खुसरो, अमृतलाल नागर, असगर वजाहत, आचार्य चतुरसेन शास्त्री, आचार्य रजनीश, अवधेश प्रधान, अमृत शर्मा, असगर वजाहत, अनिल जनविजय, अश्विनी आहूजा, देवकीनंदन खत्री, भारतेंदु हरी‍शचंद्र, भीष्म साहनी, रसखान, अवनीश सिंह चौहान आदि का कमोबेश महत्वपूर्ण योगदान रहा है।

मोहम्मद इक़बाल की इन दो पंक्तियों को आज भी हम उदहारण मानते हैं –

“नहीं है नाउम्मीद इक़बाल अपनी किश्ते-वीरां से

ज़रा नम हो तो ये मिट्टी बड़ी ज़रखेज़ है साक़ी”

प्रकृति से जुड़े हैं कवि पंत के साथ –

“प्रथम रश्मि का आना रंगिणी तूने कैसे पहचाना

कहाँ-कहाँ हे बाल विहंगिणी पाया तूने यह गाना”

और रहस्यवाद से छायावाद तक की परिक्रमा करते हैं

रहस्य का अर्थ है -“ऐसा तत्त्व जिसे जानने का प्रयास करके भी अभी तक निश्चित रूप से कोई जान नहीं सका। ऐसा तत्त्व है परमात्मा। काव्य में उस परमात्म-तत्त्व को जानने की, जानकर पाने की और मिलने पर उसी में मिलकर खो जाने की प्रवृत्ति का नाम है-रहस्यवाद।”

छायावाद को आचार्य महावीर प्रसाद द्विवेदी ने शैली की पद्धतिमात्र स्वीकारा है तो नंददुलारे वाजपेयी ने अभिव्यक्ति की एक लाक्षणिक प्रणाली के रूप में अपनाया है। आचार्य रामचंद्र शुक्ल ने इसे रहस्यवाद के भुल-भुलैया में डाल दिया तो डॉ. नगेंद्र ने ‘स्थूल के विरुद्ध सूक्ष्म का विद्रोह’ कहा। आलोचकों ने छायावाद की किसी न किसी प्रवृत्ति के आधार पर उसे जानने-समझने का प्रयास किया। छायावाद संबंधी विद्वानों की परिभाषाएँ या तो अधूरी हैं या एकांगी। इस संदर्भ में नामवर सिंह का छायावाद (1955) संबंधी ग्रंथ विशेष अर्थ रखता है। उन्होंने एक नए एंगल से छायावाद को देखा। उनके शब्दों में – ‘छायावाद उस राष्ट्रीय जागरण की काव्यात्मक अभिव्यक्ति है जो एक ओर पुरानी रूढ़ियों से मुक्ति चाहता था और दूसरी ओर विदेशी पराधीनता से। इस जागरण में जिस तरह क्रमशः विकास होता गया, इसकी काव्यात्मक अभिव्यक्ति भी विकसित होती गई और इसके फलस्वरूप छायावाद संज्ञा का भी अर्थ विस्तार होता गया।’1

परिभाषाओं से इतर है हमारी कल्पना – जिसमें रहस्य भी है, छायावाद भी, नौ रसों का अद्भुत स्वाद भी … किसी भी युग का एक दृष्टिकोण नहीं, न धर्म का – अर्थ वही है, जो आपकी दिशा बदल दे, आपको सोचने पर मजबूर करे … इसी उद्देश्य में मेरे कुछ आंतरिक शाब्दिक विचार –

बातें अनगिनत होती हैं

कुछ मन को सहलाती हैं

कुछ बिंधती हैं

कुछ समझाती हैं …

समझते समझते मन को सहलाना खुद आ जाता है

क्योंकि सहलानेवाली बातेँ खत्म हो जाती हैं – अचानक !

इसी समापन के आगे शब्द भाव जन्म लेते हैं

मन को सहलाते हुए

कब ये वृक्ष बढ़ने लगते हैं

कब ख्यालों के पंछी

अपनी अभिव्यक्ति के कलरव से

धऱती आकाश गुंजायमान करते हैं … कुछ भी पता नहीं चलता और एक दिन ‘पहचान’ मिल जाती है !

इसी ठहराव सी पहचान के लिए मैं कहना चाहती हूँ –

रिश्ता,प्यार,दोस्ती

सिर्फ इन्हें ही नहीं निभाना होता

अपमान भी निभाना पड़ता है !

प्यार का सम्मान ज़रूरी है

तो शांति से जीने के लिए

अपमान का सम्मान कहीं अधिक ज़रूरी है !

निःसंदेह,

अपमान ग्राह्य नहीं होता

पर जीवन का बहुत बड़ा

गहन, गंभीर अध्याय

इसे ग्राह्य बनाता है

कितने भी हाथ-पाँव मार लो विरोध के

ग्राह्य बनाना पड़ता है !

कोई जवाब देने से पहले

अपनी अंतरात्मा के घायल वजूद को देखो

और चिंतन करो

– कब

कहाँ

कितनी बार

तुमने परिस्थिति के अपमानजनक हिस्से को

अपनी मुस्कान दी है

आवभगत किया है …

शर्मिंदगी की बात नहीं

ज़िन्दगी की शिक्षा

इन्हीं परिस्थितियों की चुभन से मिलती है …

जब तक सूरज पूरब की ओर से

सर के ऊपर तक होता है

ज़िन्दगी का फलसफा अबोध होता है

हम – तुम

बड़ी बड़ी बातें करते हैं

पर पश्चिम तक बढ़ते

अस्ताचल तक पहुँचते मार्ग में

समझौते ही समझौते होते हैं

अपमान का गरल पीकर

नीलकंठ बनकर

मुस्कुराना ही होता है

अतिथि देवो भवः कहकर

घातक दुश्मन को गले लगाना ही होता है

….

मुश्किलों को आसान बनाने के लिए

अपमान को निभाना ही होता है !!!

सूक्तियों के कोलाहल में मुझे पूछना है –

अन्याय करना पाप है

तो अन्याय सहना भी …

बिल्कुल !

लेकिन अन्याय करना अन्यायी का स्वभाव है

अन्याय सहना स्वभाव नहीं

परिस्थिति की न्यायिक माँग है !

कोर्ट में मसले वर्षों की फाइल में मर जाते हैं

पर जीता हुआ सत्य

पेट की आग

परिवार की सूक्ति

समाज की भर्तस्ना में

खामोश बुत हो जाता है !

इस बुत पर हाथ उठाओ

या घसीटते जाओ

यह मूक रहता है

हँसी भी इसकी शमशान जैसी होती है

उसकी भी आलोचना भरपूर होती है …

‘मेरे टुकड़ों पर पलती है’ कहता पति हाथ उठाता है

निकल जाए जो स्त्री स्वाभिमान के साथ

तो – कई फिकरे !!!

स्वाभिमान का तमाशा जब होता है

तब उसके विरोध में कोई कैंडल मार्च नहीं होता

सबके अपने व्यक्तिगत कारण होते हैं

‘विरोध करके हम अपना रिश्ता क्यूँ बिगाड़ें’

‘माहौल नहीं था कहने का’ …

सही है

तो … अन्याय सहने की स्थिति को पाप मत कहो

यह पाप करने की ताकत में

सब मिलकर अन्याय का घृत डालते हैं

यानी पाप करते हैं

इसलिए ……धर्म के मायने पूछने से पहले

अपने धर्म का खाता खोलिए

देखिये, अधर्मी की लिस्ट में आपका नाम तो नहीं !!!

निःसंदेह शिक्षा,परिवर्तन और आधुनिकता का व्यापक शोर है, पर सत्य जो है वह टिमटिमाता हुआ … कुछ इस तरह,

वर्तमान की देहरी पर

ख़ामोशी जब भयावह हो उठती है

तब खोल देती हूँ अतीत के कब्रिस्तान का दरवाजा

दहला देनेवाली चुप सी चीखें

रेंगता साया

विस्फारित चेहरों की लकीरें …

अतीत और वर्तमान में

बदलाव तो है

पर उसी तरह –

जिस तरह लड़कियों के जीवन में दिखाई देता है !!!

वक्तव्य ठोस – लड़का लड़की समान

लड़की लड़के से बेहतर !

लड़की कमाने लगी

पर थकान आज भी एक-दो घरों को छोड़

सिर्फ लड़कों की !

दहेज़ की माँग पूर्ववत !

गोरी,काली का भेद नहीं जाता उसकी नौकरी से

और लड़का –

घी का लड्डू टेढ़ो भलो !!!

परिवर्तन का शोर

परिवर्तन –

भाषण और सच के मध्य बारीक लकीर जैसी …

लड़कियों का उच्चश्रृंखल अंदाज परिवर्तन नहीं

कम कपड़े परिवर्तन नहीं

परिवर्तन है –

नौकरी के लिए घर से बाहर अपनी तलाश

तलाश के आगे कई सपनों की हत्या !

परिवर्तन है –

लड़की का लड़का बन जाना

और उस वेशभूषा में सीख –

कुछ लड़की सा व्यवहार करो !

लड़की लड़का सी हो

या संकुचित सिमटी

या व्यवहारिक …

आलोचना होती रहती है !

हादसे के बाद उसकी इज़्ज़त नहीँ होती

नहीं होता कोई न्याय

तमाम गलतियों की जिम्मेदार वही होती है

माशाअल्लाह

लड़के में कोई खामी नहीं होती !

वह खून करे

इज़्ज़त छिन ले

शराब पीकर,क्रोध में हाथ उठाये

फिर भी वह दोषी नहीं होता

परस्त्री को देखे

तो पत्नी में कमी

वह बाँधकर रखने में अक्षम है

पुरुष तो भटकेगा ही !!!

है न परिवर्तन में वही सड़ांध ?

…. हाँ लड़कियाँ पढ़-लिख गई हैं

देश-विदेशों में नौकरी करने लगी हैं

…घर से बाहर वह दौड़ रही है अपना अस्तित्व लिए

घर में कमरे के भीतर वह जूझ रही है

अपने अस्तित्व के लिए

यूँ …. अपवाद कल भी था , आज भी हैं

उदहारण कल भी था, आज भी है

परिवर्तन एक शोर है

संसद भवन जैसा

जहाँ कोई किसी की नहीं सुनता

शहरी सियार की हुआ हुआ है

जो आज भी जंगली है !!!
